If Instagram is to be trusted – and, of course, it is – it’s always summer, somewhere. No doubt your daily scroll is filled with sun-drenched shots of Portofino, Capri and other postcard-ready locales. And, if you’re sitting at a desk, wearing boots and socks and three jumpers and wondering why the hell the air con is on in July, no doubt you’ve got a chronic case of FOMO.

You have, at this juncture in time, one of two choices...

One: delete Instagram and all your other social channels. Completely divorce yourself from your holidaying scroll and hibernate. Write a novel. Sit next to a fire. Learn to knit or upskill elsewhere.

Two. Book a ticket some place warm.

For those of you wise enough to run with the latter option (we’re guessing: all of you), let us give you a hand with the packing process.

The trick is to pack as light as humanly possible. Easier said than done we’re sure, but there are simple hacks to keeping that suitcase of yours under the excess label. Among these hacks? Pack light fabrics; live in linen, be sparing on denim staples; bring swimwear that doubles as a bodysuit …

So what else to bring on your search of the endless summer?

Warehouse Top

You always feel fresh in whites. Be sure to pack both long sleeve and short. Long keeps the sun at bay (only once you’ve had too much) and will take you into the cooler nights.

Tigerlilly Azar Bag

A carry-all bag that goes with just about everything. This is your hand luggage, your beach bag, you go-anywhere the wind takes you.

Prada Sunglasses

Sunnies that will elevate any look. Perfect for any and every location, be it beachside or something more formal.

Betts Loafers

Slides to take you everywhere.

Dricoper Shorts

Denim cut offs. Team with a one-piece for day-time and a silk linen shirt come the evening / long lunches.

Nicholas Dress

A print-led summer dress you can team with just about anything.

Bound by Bond Eye One-piece

The black one-piece. This is something you will live in, day after day. Bodysuit, swimsuit, adventure-suit.

Reebok Womens Sneakers

A pair of white kicks. Perfect for on the plane and in-between travel, along with those long walks up / down the Cinque Terre stairs.

Will and Bear Hat

Because no hat, no play.

Topshop Slip Dress

A plain wear-everywhere linen dress to alternate with your print option.

Cubo Suitcase

A hard-travelling luggage BFF.
