Loved for his *extra* aesthetic, our Aussie golden boy has left his unique mark on every medium from opera to adverts and musicals. Together with his wife Catherine Martin’s Oscar-winning costume design, he’s the man behind unforgettable movies from Moulin Rouge and Romeo & Juliet to The Great Gatsby, as well as Chanel ads and more recently, Netflix series The Get Down. Plus, he clearly loves Leo DiCaprio nearly as much as us. “I realised that I couldn’t make [Romeo & Juliet] without him.” And boy are we glad he didn’t.

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the talent that is, Baz Luhrmann.
