Sure, your average belt works just fine to give your silhouette more shape but if you’re ready to take your style game up a notch, try these tips and tricks for a whole new look.

1. Embrace the belt bag.

Flashback to only a few years ago and we would’ve scoffed at the idea of actually wearing a fanny pack the way they were intended – even slinging them across our body seemed like a stretch. Now, there’s nothing more chic or convenient than having a little hip pouch.

Stylist tip: avoid looking like an 80’s aerobics instructor by keeping it away from your gym gear.

2. Add a scarf.

To add a flash of colour that no ordinary belt can provide, try threading a silk scarf through your belt loops. Secure with a simple knot and let the ends hang down the front.

Stylist tip: if your scarves are just that little bit too short then tie two together to get that extra length.

3. Use your sleeves.

Boiler suits are a major street-style trend right now and it’s easy to see why. They’re cool and androgynous and so comfortable to wear. If you’ve fallen in love with the style and want to get the most out of this all-in-one look, try rolling down the top half and knotting the sleeves around your waist.

Stylist tip: pair it back with a crop top to accentuate your silhouette.

Get creative with your styling.
