Every office has at least one die-hard Star Wars fan who will no doubt see May the 4th as the perfect opportunity to resurrect their deluxe edition Darth Vader costume, heck they’ve probably been planning this since the new year rolled around and even had it cleared with HR. But for the rest of us who just aren’t that into the whole sci-fi saga (yes, there are few of us out there) we thought we’d switch things up and pit our fashion editors against each other for a little Style Wars action we can all relate to.

If you haven’t noticed, we’re all about denim at the moment and why wouldn’t we be - there’s no such thing as having too much denim in your wardrobe and we happen to have loads of new jeans dropping daily. We’ve got it all - denim jackets, skirts, skinny jeans, and even ones with an athleisure influence (yup, it’s a thing, read about it and get obsessed) - but one style we really can’t get enough of right now is the mom jean. They’re the kind of style that works with just about anything and somehow, because of the oldies influence, they’ll make your whole look so much cooler.

To prove our point, we gave the same pair of jeans to three of our stylists and asked, “how do you like your mom jeans?”.

“Mom jeans have been in my wardrobe rotation for a while now so to freshen them up for this season I like to add flashes of colour. A pink blazer makes this outfit office appropriate and leopard print shoes are another must-have right now, so I'm styling them with literally everything.” - Orla.

“As soon as they make mom jeans for men, I’ll be wearing them. My everyday style is clean and classic so when a staple piece like this comes through the studios I like to style it back with a monochrome palette and a timeless leather jacket.” - Ben.

“There’s no fashion trend I won’t try and at the moment, because the weather is getting cooler, I love mixing warm bohemian-inspired jackets with my everyday classics. There’s nothing like the contrast of a big furry jacket with pointed pumps to take a pair of mom jeans to the next level.” - Brooke.
