We’re not yet through the first month of 2018 and already we’ve found ourselves collectively sweating through the morning commute, making the most of every weekend (by pretending we’re still on holiday) and attempting not to give up on our resolutions.

This long weekend is the perfect opportunity to kick back, spend time with mates and get around to doing that thing you said you’d do over New Year but didn’t quite get around to achieving. Need some bright ideas? Look no further…

This long weekend is the perfect opportunity to kick back, spend time with mates and get around to doing that thing you said you’d do over New Year but didn’t quite get around to achieving. Need some bright ideas? Look no further…

SYDNEY

Get yourself down to the American Express Openair Cinema, at beautiful Bondi Beach, for a movie sesh that’s a definite step-up from the norm. Head down to the beach for an afternoon dip, then hit the beanbags with your best pal.

Also in Sydney, it’s the closing weekend of Sydney Festival! If you’re not up for a live show, head instead to Glitterbox or the Karaoke Carousel for Insta-worthy good times.

MELBOURNE

Melbourne will be buzzing for the closing weekend of the Australian Open. If you’re #blessed enough to have tickets, or nab some last minute, then we’re happy for you (no, really, we are!). If you can’t bear the thought of watching the game on your Grandma’s floral sofa, head to The Racquet Club to enjoy the match and the sunshine.

Adelaide Crush Wine Festival

ADELAIDE

The Crush Wine Festival is happening in Adelaide. If you owe your ‘rents a nice weekend outing, head to one of the region’s picturesque wineries for a fancy meal, lush views and live music.

BRISBANE

There are celebrations happening at South Bank, but why not snatch the chance to get out of the city for a few days? Head south to Byron Bay (you might even run into Miley and Liam), or north to Coolum Beach with your S/O.

PERTH

Meanwhile, over in Perth, the Fringe World Festival kicks off. It’s a month-long celebration of arts, culture and comedy and the schedule is jam-packed with some of Australia’s funniest folk. Then again, an epic beach cricket tournament in Freyo is sounds pretty great too.
