“Listening to Blood Orange and laughing a lot.”

This is what Kit Willow tells us when we ask about what it was like pulling together her new collection. It’s a collection of deep-yellow satins in Grecian silhouettes, hand-woven draped silks and soft crepes in elegant monochrome palettes, but it’s so much more than that. It’s conscious fashion, without compromise: Willow and her team sources all her materials sustainably, with a focus on ethical design and manufacturing processes.

The most important thing, for Willow, when pulling together the KITX collection is “designing and dealing with materials that are consciously sourced to minimise the impact on the planet”.

“We do what we do because we love fashion, creativity, commerce, humans and the planet,” she says.

The KITX woman, Willow tells us, is “chic, conscious, rock”.

“She’s woman, she’s (a) lover”.

Willow herself holds a commerce degree majoring in psychology and has worked under a master of draping in Paris – and her label (not her first) focuses not only on form, but on how it makes you feel. Fittingly, right now, she’s obsessed with “sacred geometry”.

Let’s look a little more at the shapes she’s been throwing this season…
