It’s hard enough to stick to an exercise routine on a good day and with winter right around the corner we’re seriously running low on motivation to get moving. Luckily, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Active show happened only last week and literally had us racing to get out of our boyfriend blazers and mom jeans and into our activewear.

The show featured collections from a range of Australian labels including P.E Nation and Koral, and each showcased looks that are guaranteed to shake up your workout wardrobe. There was a lot of monochrome - naturally - but then there were a few surprises, like the return of parachute pants, uber-cool anoraks and men in tights.

Scroll through some of our favourite looks from MBFWA and forget your preconceived ideas that sportswear should be saved for the gym - because you’re going to want to live in yours from now on.

From P.E Nation’s menswear collection it was the oversized silhouettes that had us reminiscing the 90’s. We never thought we’d see the day when big windbreaker jackets and zip-off parachute pants would make it to our Wishlist, yet here we are. Mix that with the bold branding and tapered tracksuits from the rest of the range and it’s safe to say the brand is promising big things for the future of sportswear and street style.

Koral followed a similar path for women, playing with proportions and exaggerating silhouettes but with the added touch of luxury through metallic fabrics, wet-look tights and a cool-girl attitude towards activewear.
