Racing Stripes: Would You Wear This Denim Trend?

These 6 styles might sway your answer

The athleisure look has been around for years and this denim trend has cemented it in our wardrobes for at least a few more. It might sound a little strange at first – when we heard designers were combining gym gear with jeans we immediately thought of sweaty jeggings – but we promise, these threads are much cooler than that.

Thankfully the look doesn’t involve wearing any form of yoga pants outside of the studio, or actual activewear for that matter (unless you do want to rock a sports crop on your off days as pictured, then go for gold). All you need to pull off this denim trend is a pair of tracksuit-inspired jeans.

We recently ran a poll on Instagram asking whether people would prefer shredded denim over sporty styles and, lo and behold ripped jeans actually won by a long shot, BUT regardless we’ve still got a good feeling these 6 looks might just change your mind.

When Topshop covers a trend, then you know it’s going to be huge. We love the leg-lengthening effect the thin stripes have on this skinny-fit pair.

6. On the Rocks Sequin Jeans by Sass & Bide

In true Sass & Bide style, their take on the trend makes low-key denim way more extra. Black and gold sequins form the racing stripes on these jeans and we’re 100% OK with it.
