As everyone knows - plastic ain’t always fantastic. The material takes hundreds of years to break down in landfill and our oceans, making up a huge percentage of our solid waste. Creating plastic takes energy, uses up limited fossil fuels and plenty of water - according to studies, a bottle of water requires 2000 times the energy it takes for the same amount of tap water.

As a custodian of the land, Envirobank founder, Narelle Anderson feels she has a duty to nature. Her organisation encourages people to keep and recycle plastic bottles in return for rewards, refunds and all-round good karma. This National Recycling Week - 12th - 18th November - we’ve partnered with Envirobank to create a unique offer. Anyone who registers for Envirobank’s Crunch rewards program will receive a THE ICONIC discount as a thank you for recycling. Win win.

While we’re all diligently washing out containers and popping them into the correct bin - which, according to experts is a crucial contribution to the cause - it is critical that we also create a market for the recycled material that comes out the other end. At THE ICONIC, we are tackling the social and environmental impacts of our operations (including our packaging) and our supply chain as well as adding to our offering some styles that are crafted using recycled plastic - so that you can feel good about what you’re wearing.
