Luka Sabbat

He might only be in his early 20s but Luka Sabbat is steadily making a name for himself as an actor and, most importantly, professional clothes wearer par excellence, with an Instagram following of over a million – @lukasabbat - that’s growing all the time. The US-born star of sitcom Grownish has style in his blood, thanks to a mum who worked for Dior in Paris where Sabbat spent some of his childhood. His cross-cultural background is in evidence in his look, which channels American-style streetwear with touches of luxe-French sophistication.

Alessandro Michele

Not everyone paid cash to make others look good manages to pull off the trick themselves, but Alessandro Michele does it in spades. And brightly patterned spades at that. Bestriding the fashion world like some perfectly moisturised Jesus, the creative director of Gucci favours a rack of outrageous suits and tuxes that almost nobody else – lookalike Jared Leto aside, maybe – could wear and still be taken seriously. While shunning the clean, cultivated, monochrome look that’s proved iconic for fellow designer and former boss Tom Ford over the decades, as well as dozens of male celebrities, Michele has very much created a look all his own, and the world is a better if slightly more bonkers place for it.

Donald Glover AKA Childish Gambino

The man can do no wrong. Whether you’ve seen him on the big screen in Solo: A Star Wars Movie or writing, directing and starring in smash-hit TV drama Atlanta… or producing number one songs (with award-winning music videos) under his alter-ego Childish Gambino, Donald Glover is a modern marvel. He can also pull off a variety of outfits like few others. From the schmick purple Gucci suit he donned for the Met Gala, to his bright orange Dolce & Gabbana effort at the Black Panther premiere (and a whole lot of tamer choices in between), Glover’s sartorial choices sum him up — never afraid to be loud or different, but somehow incredibly cool and refined at the same time.

Alexander Skarsgard

Take a very cool, very tall, good looking Scandinavian actor and place him in a series of well-cut suits and voila, you have Alexander Skarsgard. The Swede might offer little that’s new in what he wears, but sometimes it’s just the way you wear it. Whether in a double-breasted grey jacket with open blue shirt or tailored black suit with white shirt and black tie, Skarsgard oozes the cool charm of a man you’d expect to find taking a first class flight to Paris just to get his date a croissant for breakfast.
