It was the classic look as a ’90s teenager... You know, the ‘lads’ who wore white shirts, swishy pants and gold chains.

They’d be hanging out in the food court with a frozen coke, all matching in their Kappa trackies.

You’d also find them wandering around in packs at Wonderland on the weekend, eating cheeseburgers and pushing in the line for the Space Probe.

Well, the ‘lad’ look is back… But this time it’s way cooler and it’s about to become every guy’s go-to winter uniform.

Why? Well, it’s gotta be THE most comfy trend in a while.

But also, a bunch of celeb guys are into it, including Kourtney Kardashian’s partner, Younes, Halsey’s boyfriend, G-Eazy, and Chiara Ferragni’s hubby, rapper Fedez.

Think loose sweats, oversized white tees, hoods, caps, sneakers and thick socks.

It’s pretty much exactly what you’d wear for a weekend chilling with a bag of Chicken Twisties on the lounge, but a LOT more luxe.

Here’s how to nail it so you look less couch potato and more like Halsey’s boyfriend…

Keep it fresh

Crisp whites and greys are the ultimate to make this look CLEAN, rather than like you've been hanging in the carpark and need a serious shower. See, G-Eazy's holding a plastic red cup on the street and still manages to look expensive in his fresh, grey tracksuit. We encourage matching your sweatshirt and pants, like the rapper. (You may want to invest in a decent fabric softener.) Also steal G's slicked-back hairstyle for a cool vibe. Make sure you team it with a silver chain and really white kicks.

It’s all about the sport

Anything with stripes, sporty labels and soccer vibes is the go. So think adidas, like blogger Lauryn Evarts’ husband and marketing guru Michael Bosstick is wearing. Bright red is such a big colour right now, or if you're not keen on such an attention-grabbing look, go for a black adidas bomber jacket and track pants. Add a black cap and adidas Originals Superstar sneakers. Don't forget the layered chains, too.

Layer up

Go for gold with layering. The beauty of this trend is that everything’s that little bit oversized, so add a black zip-up bomber jacket over the top, and let the sleeves of your undershirt peek out. Red accents look cool against an all-black look, with the white sneakers that pop, too.

Go overboard a bit

This trend works really well with brights. Combine colours that complement each other, like a lilac jumper and orange pants, or lime green jumper with silky black trackies... then anything in the rainbow goes for your accessories. A bum bag is the ultimate with this look, as well as multi-coloured sneakers and big sunglasses.

You'll totally want to wear this uniform on repeat all winter.

Just a warning though, it's so comfy your girlfriend may want to steal it.

You better start running.
