The Most Dad-ish Dads On Earth

You thought your dad was embarrassing

My dad tells fictional stories about me as a child, argues politics with strangers on Twitter and is incapable of parking in the first space he sees. Decision-making, it seems, was a thing of his youth.

But between their dad jokes, dodgy clothes, the embarrassing photos, the embarrassing STORIES... you know you wouldn’t change your old man for the world. It can always be worse. Take a look at some of the face-palm moments these dads are guilty of.

Just Google it
While teaching his 83 year old dad, Norman, to navigate the internet, this US-based bloke told his unsuspecting old man that Twitter was a search engine. Each time he hits enter, @oldmansearch publishes his query of the day. Cue such ponderings as ‘can i bring a tupperware of chili on an airplane” [sic] and “TV shows NO singing”. Warning: very easy to scroll this account forever.

Turn Around, Bright Eyes
Technology can be a wonderful thing - in the right hands. And while tech giants like Apple focus on making their products kid user-friendly, nobody was keeping an eye on the oldies. On his recent vacation to Las Vegas, Irish dad Joseph Griffin borrowed his son’s GoPro to document the trip of a lifetime. Only nobody told Joe he had it facing the wrong way the entire trip.

Golden Balls
When you’re young there’s nothing worse than your parents showing you up. It’s bad enough when they’re regular Joes, but when your dad is world-famous footballer and husband of designer Victoria Beckham, the humiliation has international reach. When David Beckham’s son Brooklyn took to social media to film a quick video thanking his fans for helping him achieve 1 million followers, dad David video-bombed him to brag that he had double the amount. Cut to a crestfallen Brook.

Words of Wisdom
In an inspiring dad-to-riches tale, Justin Halpern’s Twitter account of his father’s hair-raising advice became the Sh*t My Dad Says book, topping The New York Times Best Seller list and later a TV series with Samuel Halpern played by William Shatner.

His thoughts on the show? Halpern told The Huffington Post, "Well...It was kind of shitty at first, but I thought it got a lot better. You know what show I like? Cheers. That was a good show."

See, yours isn't so bad is he... Don't forget Father's Day, September 2nd.
