Our Social & Environmental Responsibility
We at THE ICONIC recognise the responsibility to fully understand the social and environmental impacts of our organisation for the better of all communities involved. From working conditions in the supply chain and community issues that concern our people and customers, to the environmental impacts of our packaging and transporting orders to customers, our responsibility is multifaceted, and each of these facets are equally important. The moral imperative of our people is what drives THE ICONIC to be a responsible business and we are confident that together we will reach our sustainability objectives.
A New Way To Shop
THE ICONIC’s mission is to create a seamless and inspiring shopping experience for our customers. We want them to feel confident in our commitment to creating a more sustainable and healthy world. It is inherent to our purpose that we liberate our customer’s ability to make purchase decisions based on their personal values through a wide choice of brands with sustainability credentials.
We know we have work to do; although we have made great progress on our journey to date, we are humble enough to know there are many more opportunities for us to create positive change, and we hope that through our own movement we will inspire other businesses to recognise their part in driving collective, actionable change.
We want to ensure fashion products remain in circulation for as long as possible. This reduces waste, carbon emissions and materials consumption, and makes your purchases a worthwhile investment by prolonging their lifecycle.
As part of our circular fashion journey, we launched Giving Made Easy in 2020, enabling customers to donate pre-loved clothes to charity by downloading a pre-paid postage label and dropping off their donation at any Australia Post location. This initiative has already saved more than 25,000kg of textiles from landfill.
Our partnership with AirRobe, a new marketplace for pre-loved fashion, offers another solution to extend the life of fashion products. At checkout, customers can add their eligible ICONIC items directly to their ‘Circular Wardrobe’ on AirRobe, where they are ready to be listed for rent, resale or recycle.
Our Sustainability Strategy
Our strategy has been collaboratively developed by team members from varying departments, tenures and roles – including our CEO and Executive team.
