Inspired by a childhood spent scouring untamed beaches along the Australian coast, Ryder - the lovechild label of Melbourne-based design duo (and sisters) Penny and Georgie Brown - has evolved to delineate quintessential Australian style. What began as a diffusion line from the iconic Arabella Ramsay collection, the whimsical Ryder aesthetic has grown into its own since the Brown sisters took over as creative directors of the boutique label in 2012.

Characterised by delicate florals, vintage silhouettes and light-washed denim with embroidered accents, each collection by Ryder flirts with current trends while remaining uniquely timeless in its appeal. Equally at home in the city as she is on the coast, the Ryder girl is fresh-faced and effortlessly cool. She wears her denim faded, opts for prairie-style dresses and isn’t afraid to rock a kitschy vintage print. Fabric painted with native flora and fauna punctuates her wardrobe of crisp white shirting and semi-preppy stripes; her shoe of choice is a brogue, woven from sun-bleached raffia.

This season, a provincial undertone permeates the Ryder collection, with gingham checked dresses and fresh white separates standing out among Brown’s coveted bucolic prints. An A-line dress in denim chambray is emblematic of the easygoing spirit that underpins the line, while high-waisted Bermudas in off-white denim nod to the more tailored aesthetic of shorts this season.

THE ICONIC offers a curated selection of Ryder’s inimitable aesthetic, with heeled Chelsea boots, sailor stripes and a colour palette of dusty pink, powder blue and juicy tangerine informing our offering of Ryder’s latest collection.
