Loosen up your buttons babe

Signs that say summer is officially here – jackets are lighter, socks come off but shoes stay on, sleeves get shorter, and fastening shirt buttons becomes optional.

With high temperatures and glorious sunrays shining down on us, it’s only natural to want to loosen your neckline a little – but is there such thing as going too far?

The general rule of thumb for most situations is to never go further south than the first two buttons, especially when the dress code is more formal – but for every other casual occasion (read: non-occasion) we say go rogue and do what feels right for you.

Unbutton your shirt halfway when you want to show off your chest hair, or lack thereof...

Unbutton it a little further when you regrettably wear jeans on a hot day, or when you've got a cool necklace you want people to notice...

Only bother doing up one or two buttons when you're going to and from the beach...

Or don't do any buttons up at all...

Just bear in mind where you are when you loosen up your buttons and take into consideration the people that might be around you – like don’t go unbuttoned when you’re hopping on public transport and other similar situations.
