Monday to Friday, or whatever your work week looks like, is easy when it comes to what to wear. A suit maybe, a shirt, definitely. Something ironed, for sure. But what happens when the clock strikes you-time?

What. Do. You. Wear?

You want your weekends to be a no-brainer. No deadlines. No pressure. No decisions other than whether you Deliveroo one chicken burger or two to see you through the game. (Answer: two.)

And, when it comes to you wardrobe, it’s the same. Investing in a solid collection of don’t-have-to-think-too-much staples is an investment in more time spent on the finer things of life. Like sleeping in.

So, no matter what’s on the cards – be it three games in a row, a Bumble date or that family thing – you want pieces at the ready that are easy to reach for and that work with their eyes closed.

And – you’re welcome – we got our stylists to do the work to find these pieces so you didn’t have to.

By way of user’s manual, here are their tips

Mix structure with sweats – try chinos with a hoodie and trainers, a dress shirt under a sweatshirt, or maybe a blazer over a knit. Elevated sportswear, that’s the vibe. Smart casual, the brief.

Warm up your khakis and camo with warm tones like this mustard yellow.

Sweats are perfect weekend wear and in all-black – matched with black trainers – keep your look sharp.

Pick your favourite shades and live in them

Navys and neutrals are always a winner. These are your go-to’s, your reach-for’s and always on trend. The trick here is layers, layers and more layers. The long line coat gives a tailored feel to look. Teaming a hoodie with dress-style pants, too, elevates your look. And keep the sports vibe with retro-feel sneakers by New Balance.

Fall for the all-over tone

It’s the easiest trick in the book. Pick one colour and run with it. Go with the mantra of match and match. Mix it up by playing with shades, textures, weights and hell, even throw in a few pastels.

Channel the you-can-never-have-too-many-puffer-jackets vibe

After all, what’s better than one puffer jacket? Two, obviously. (Noticing a theme here?) This is winter layering at its easiest.
