10 Instagram Accounts To Follow If You’re Food-obsessed

Yes chef!

Instagram may have its faults, but the social media platform offers no shortage of inspo when it comes to cooking. Whether you’re a food fanatic or just on a quest for something simple to cook for dinner, here are our favourite foodies to follow on the ’gram.

1. @alisonroman

Alison Roman may well take the crown when it comes to food-focused influencers. After all, this is the food writer and recipe developer behind a series of viral treats, including #thestew and #thecookies. These days she has a trio of different recipe books, a regular New York Times recipe column, and an army of cooking suggestions on Instagram.

2. @mollybaz

Fellow Bon Appetit Magazine alumni Molly Baz is also another firm social media star. If the flavour-rich American-style recipes of the LA-based chef don’t tempt you to follow her, her suavely styled home and adorable sausage dog Tuna will.

3. @sian_redgrave

Closer to home is Sian Redgrave, the former winner of The Great Australian Bake Off who has amassed an impressive array of followers thanks to her devotion to Italian cuisine and deliciously styled dishes, with a decent dose of fashion on the side.

4. @recipearce

Nicholas Pearce is the man behind @recipearce, an account which has catapulted to instant success courtesy of its easy-as recipes ranging from everything from lamb meatballs and mash to crispy kingfish red curry.

5. @darrenrobertsonfood

If you’re familiar with the burgeoning Three Blue Ducks empire, you’ll no doubt also know of co-founder Darren Robertson. The Byron-based chef’s passion for fresh, flavoursome local produce and outdoor cookups promise ample inspo for your next get together.

6. @maddytrueman

If healthy(ish) fare is more your cup of tea you should turn your attention straight to Gold Coast-based Maddy Trueman. The freelance recipe developer is a fan of nutrient-rich dishes that may be free of nasties but are overflowing in flavour, with dish ideas ranging from smoothies and juices through to pastas and cakes.

7. @charlotteree

Love a baked good? You’ll find a firm friend in Charlotte Ree. While she may work in publishing professionally, the avid baker has turned her passion for Basque cheesecakes and creamy trifles into a side hustle well worth your time and attention. On her feed you’ll find recipes and dessert inspo galore.

8. @juliaostro

Julia Busuttil Nishimura is undoubtedly now one of Australia’s favourite foodies. The recipe developer is on to her third cookbook (and counting), Italian (and a touch of Japanese) inspired tomes that are both family-friendly and flavoursome.

9. @adamliaw

If you harbour a soft spot for Asian cuisine, get amongst Adam Liaw’s feed immediately. A combination of his own Malaysian heritage and his wife’s Japanese background sees Adam’s dishes firmly planted in the Far East. Imagine tips for ramen, noodles, and plenty, plenty more.

10. @hayden_quinn

Surfing The Menu: Next Generation star Hayden Quinn is big on tasty dishes made with minimal fuss. Find full recipes on his feed (from vegan tacos to freeform galettes) plus handy accompanying videos.
