3 Bright Eyeshadow Looks To Try For Your Next Night Out

They’re fun, fresh and easier to wear than you think.

There’s something about the festive season that makes us want to experiment with makeup. Maybe it’s a bold lip colour, a touch of glitter eyeshadow on your lids, or even just a pop of coral blush on your cheeks. Whatever you’re feeling, it’s fun to try on a new look – you never know, it may just become part of your day-to-day makeup routine.

So, whether you’re a makeup novice or a total pro, we’ve curated three simple eyeshadow looks that are sure to make a statement on your next night out – even while wearing a face mask!

Keep scrolling to find out exactly how to get the look.

Blue crush

Blue eyeshadow has long been a summer staple. Revamp the trend by adding a hint of purple shadow along your lashline. Our inhouse Makeup Artist, Amy Chen, created this look using the shades Triennial Wave and Darkroom from the M.A.C Art Library It’s Designer palette, which features 10 eyeshadow shades and 2 blush shades, making it the perfect party season staple.

What’s great about trying on a look like this is that it looks far more complicated than it actually is. “Choose a pastel or neon color and simply use a few quick casual brush strokes around your eyes,” says Amy. Tie it all in with some purple eyeshadow along your lash line and a lick of Benefit BADgal BANG! Mascara, and presto! You’re ready to take on the night.

Go for green

Arguably the colour of the season, if you’re looking for a look that’s undeniably cool, neon green is it. Apply a neon green shade across your lids using an eyeshadow brush like the M.A.C 239S Eye Shader Brush and blend up towards the crease. If you have oily eyelids, Amy recommends applying a silicon-based eye primer before applying your eyeshadow to ensure it goes the distance. To intensify the colour of the eyeshadow, put some shadow on your brush and then spray it with M.A.C Prep + Prime Fix+ spray.

For a bold eye look like this, it’s best to keep your base light and let your skin show through. “Carefully apply foundation as a base and place concealer on any unwanted spots, but leave your beautiful freckles alone,” says Amy.

Bronzed and beautiful

If you’re not convinced that you can pull off neon shades, we’ve got you covered. Bronzed lids with a metallic finish will still make your eyes pop, but in a more subtle way. Plus, this look won’t clash with your outfit. Swipe the shade BRONZE BEAU from the ICONIC London Day to Slay Eyeshadow Palette all over your lids and lightly blend whatever is left on your brush into your inner corners too. Want to turn it up a notch? Apply a touch of white or gold shimmer in the centre of your eyelids – it will catch the light and draw more attention to your eyes.

“With a bold eye look, natural tinted lips is a go-to, so that it doesn’t draw attention from the eye,” suggests Amy. For this look, Amy used M.A.C Glow Play Lip Balm in Floral Coral.
