Tennis lovers rejoice, Wimbledon has come around for yet another year, and you’re about to get a serve of that on-and-off-court style you’ve been craving. Gone are the days where tennis was just a sport – now it’s become a whole aesthetic, with pleated mini skirts, v-neck sweaters and collared polo tops being hyped as trends in the fashion world. We’re even seeing tennis become a huge part of big screens outside of game season with Zendaya’s Challengers movie releasing later this year. If you’re anything like us and you’ve watched the two-minute trailer about a million times, obsessing over every single shot, here are some wardrobe staples necessary for taking the tennis aesthetic off the court and to the streets.
1. The Tennis Skort
You know we’re speaking of an icon when it was worn by the Williams sisters as they secured their many titles. Pair the skort with a cropped polo, tube socks and clean white sneakers, and might even be mistaken for a grand slam winner yourself. When you’re off the court, the built-in shorts still come in handy, especially when you need to brace the winter wind.

2. Preppy Knits & Sweats
There really isn’t anything preppier than a knitted cardigan over a collared shirt but if cardis aren’t your vibe, any sort of slouchy sweatshirt will do. Even when you aren’t wearing your sweater, drape it over your shoulders for that classic old-money effect (when we said there wasn’t anything preppier than a cardi, we clearly lied). Are you a round or v-neck sweater kinda person? Either way, both work.

3. Tennis Accessories
Named after the sport itself, a tennis necklace is the perfect “cherry on top” moment. We get it if neck jewellery isn’t quite your thing; that's why tennis bracelets exist, right? If your love for the sport goes beyond spectatorship and you want to serve more than just looks, tennis shoes, a sports duffle bag and a visor or cap are a must.
