After two years of staying inside, wearing face masks and prioritising skincare over makeup, it’s time for a change. We’re calling it, makeup is back.
2022 makeup trends are dominating social media feeds right now and with the return of Euphoria’s season two, we’re craving the creativity that only makeup can bring. But makeup trends don’t need to be complicated or bold. In fact, this year we’ve already seen the emergence of wearable trends that could easily see you through from desk to dinner – here’s looking at you, clean look makeup.
We’ve teamed up with Michelle Banares to bring you our favourite wearable makeup trends to try right now.
Keep scrolling to discover the trends and find out how to get the look.
Clean Look Makeup
The clean look makeup trend is one of the most wearable trends we’ve come across. It’s all about looking effortlessly polished and put together. First up, you’ll need a flawless base. Start by applying the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base before foundation to ensure a smooth makeup finish. Michelle wore the Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF15 in Golden Honey and the Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer in Beige for extra coverage. She then added warmth to her complexion with the Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Medium.
After you’ve perfected your base, apply a slick of cream eyeshadow across your lids to add definition to your eye area – Michelle used the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Cinnamon. Defining your brows is crucial for this look, so fill in your arches with the Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Long-Wear Brow Pencil. Next, apply the Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder across your cheekbones and then apply a natural-looking lip colour like the Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color in Brownie to complete the look.

Eyeliner
Pushing the boundaries with liner is set to be one of the biggest trends this year. Whether you’re an eyeliner novice or a cat-eye aficionado, there’s no need to be intimidated by trying a new look. With the right style, eyeliner in 2022 is surprisingly wearable. Michelle first defined her crease with the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Cashew, then used the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Waterproof Liner in Blackout and Black Chocolate to create a combination of inner and outer corner winged liner. Keep your concealer brush handy so you can clean up the liner once you’re done to keep it sharp. Don’t forget to line your waterline too.

Overdone Blush
If you love wearing blush, this is the trend for you. Michelle started with a cream blush, Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Fresh Melon, and applied it with a makeup brush – we love the Bobbi Brown Angled Face Brush for precise application. The trick with getting this look right is to keep your eyes and lips neutral so that the blush is the main focus. Apply a lip tint that blends in with your natural lip colour. Michelle wore the Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint in Bare Pink for a sheer look. Keep your cream blush in your handbag so you can top it up with your fingers throughout the day.
