Growing Up French: How to master ‘no makeup’ makeup.

Some ‘no makeup’ beauty tutorials use dozens of products to create a woke-up-like-this look – the French girl way is much more simple. There are a handful of must haves.

The key here is to simply accentuate the features you already have, and a light hand.

Red Lipstick
This may seem like a Parisian cliché obvious beauty tip but the trick is finding the red for you. While some may be able to pull off a daring blue based red, a brick red may be more your style.

Imperfect eyeliner
Use a smudgy kohl to create a subtle wing, a “seemly” fuller lash line, a smokey eye. Choose your own adventure.

A concealer... that’s buildable
We don’t believe in blanket coverage. Different areas of your face require different levels of concealer – see above about accentuating what you have. Pinpoint small areas to even the tone of darker circles around the eyes, redness around the base of the mouth or any sun spots. Avoid adding foundation or makeup to the bridge of the nose as this is easily spotted.

Sunscreen.
Every day. No exceptions. Sunscreen in makeup doesn’t count.
