Father’s Day Gifting Made Easy (To Wrap)

Good things come in boxes.
Fathers Day Designer GiftsFathers Day Designer Gifts

With Father’s Day just around the corner and clichès surrounding those impossible to shop for father figures swirling – as they tend to do around this time every year – we face the familiar demon of gift wrapping like a dancer with two left feet. Short of diving into an endless stream of TikTok and YouTube tutorials on how to actually wrap things, we thought, ‘there has to be another way’. Here we are: thoughtful gifting that considers the gifter, creatively cutting corners so you don’t have to when it comes to wrapping.

Ok so not actually that creative, but sometimes the simplest solution is the best one. We basically started out by turning our attention to thoughtful bits and pieces that come in a small box. Simple enough, right? Small accessories like ties, rings, analogue watches and cufflinks invariably come packaged in a simply-wrapped square box and while you’ll save time (and paper) elegantly wrapping them, they all hold a personal touch that speaks to your *impeccable* taste, or theirs. Ted Baker is our pick of the bunch if you still need a little push.

While we’re on accessories we also thought that a practical everyday or occasional piece might be the way to float Dad’s boat. Whether they’re over-organised by nature or could use a helping hand on this particular front, wallets and passport holders are an easy crowd-pleaser that double as a reminder of you (they’re favourite gifter) on their travels or in their day-to-day lives. Pro-tip: Bellroy are the best in the biz when it comes to clever, streamlined carry solutions, and again, very easy to wrap.

Wanting to make a bigger splash? Here’s one for our more advanced gift-givers: wall art. Hear us out… Yes, they generally come in a protective tube that we (for obvious reasons) won’t be attempting to wrap at any point in the foreseeable future, but pop some wall candy in a frame and Bob’s your uncle – we have a well-presented gift that deserves to be shown off immediately. For that element of surprise, feel free to add a bow. If this feels ambitious but you are still keen to go with a grand gesture, we’re confident a pair of R.M.Williams, dress shoes or designer sunglasses would do the trick. Happy wrapping!
