Put your hand up if you’ve ever heard “you’ll never wear that more than once” when you’ve made a purchase? Don’t listen to them! You choose the jacket, but use this little article as an aid to show up whoever questions your next investment.
When I shop, I like to look for items that are timeless and will fit seamlessly with my existing wardrobe, but I like to have fun with my style too. This Lacoste Quilted Jacket ticked all the boxes, and turned out to be the hardest working staple in my wardrobe while I travelled around Paris. Here’s how I wore it.

This can be your everyday way to wear your jacket. Relax the look by wearing a light sweater or jumper underneath the jacket, along with your favourite pair of jeans and sneakers. I recommend sticking with a blue or black jean for this - any style will do as this jacket already creates a masculine and boxy torso.
TRY: Playing around with sweaters/jumpers in different colours, and adding a cross body bag or a hat to bring some complexity and vibrancy into the look.

Simplicity is the aim of the game. Keep the rest of your outfit really clean and minimal so that the jacket acts as your statement piece. It’s a strong finishing touch, but also looks effortless, as if you simply picked up the closest jacket you had before you walked out the door.
TRY: If your jacket is oversized, a bomber, or boxy like this, use a wide or straight-legged pant to balance the dimension of the look. If it’s a fitted or slim jacket, have your pants reflect that too.

One of my favourite things to do is create a look with the same colour, but involving different shades, shapes, materials, and textures. Doing this shows a serious complexity in your styling abilities (despite being so easy to achieve!).
TRY: If wearing one colour head-to-toe is too much, try to introduce one or two complementary colours into the bottom half of your mix through different coloured chinos or jeans.

If your style is more chill, then the simple addition of a jacket like this will up your style game – almost no effort needed. You want to look like you haven’t tried, but you don’t want to look like you don’t care.
Your jeans and tee look can be levelled-up by tying your jacket around your waist, or across your chest. It adds an extra element of character to stop your jeans and tee combo from looking too plain.
TRY: Using a jumper or sweater for this look too!
