What do you wear to the office when you work in fashion and you’re surrounded by some of the best-dressed talent online? THE ICONIC’s influencer manager Tiffany Yuen networks with many different personalities on a weekly basis, whether it be with talent managers or various influencers, talents and content creators themselves. Keeping up with the influencer world and being savvy on social media is part of the job, so we asked Tiff to share her go-to accounts for workwear inspiration, her favourite heels for attending influencer events, and her secret for always looking fresh-faced on a Zoom call.
Name: Tiffany Yuen (everyone calls me Tiff)
Instagram Handle: @tiffyuen_
Occupation: Influencer Manager
What does a typical work day look like for you? No two days are the same which is exciting and keeps me on my toes. With the start of 2023, I’ve been committing to pilates or a light walk to start my day. Then I check my schedule, respond to any urgent emails, scroll Instagram – both professionally and personally – and note down all the tasks I need to do for the day. My role allows me to be creative and problem solve challenges that I’m faced with often, whether it be strategic planning for upcoming campaigns and events or re-working influencer briefs if samples or product delivery issues arise. I take great pride in being able to turn a negative situation into a positive one.
Three words that define your style when you’re not at work:
Minimalistic. Tonal. Laid-back.
How does it compare to your workwear style?
My style is quite simple I’d say (hopefully not boring haha) — I’ve built a capsule wardrobe over the years with staple pieces I can re-wear again and again. I’ll often mix and match different pieces from my wardrobe to style up looks if I’m going into the office or for work influencer events. I love this Bassike Open Mesh Knit – it is such a versatile piece and looks great when styled with a cool pair of trousers or a knit skirt for the warmer months. And the AERE Panelled Organic Silk Midi Dress is such a great piece you can wear from the office to after work drinks.
Who is your go-to for workwear outfit inspiration?
Working in the influencer space, I am always on social media and end up finding so many amazing influencers and content creators (both local and international) who I follow for outfit inspo. Some of my current favourites include:
- Rosie Huntington-Whiteley @rosiehw
- Olivia Miller @ooliviamiller
- Fredrika Akander @fakander
- Marianne @smythsisters
- Claire Rose @clairerose
- Laura Jade Stone @laurajadestone
- Josefine HJ @Josefinehj
What’s your go-to WFH uniform?
My work from home outfits are really laid back — you’ll most likely see me on Zoom in my activewear or simple casual basics. I’m all about wearing comfortable clothes when WFH!
What’s one thing that makes you feel ready for a Zoom call?
Washing my hair the night before OR spritzing a few sprays of a face mist to freshen up just before a Zoom call. The KORA Organics hydrating face mist smells aaaamazing and gives you a nice dewy finish.
Describe your ideal desk-to-drinks outfit.
I’m definitely a pants + top kinda girl, however my outfits are definitely dependent on my mood and schedule. I try to keep things simple and rarely wear patterns or prints. I love having staple pieces which I can mix and match and I can throw on a cute pair of heels to dress it up after work.
Top 5 workwear essentials in your Wishlist:
- Good quality staple blazer (love this black blazer from Camilla & Marc)
- High-waist pants or trousers (although I usually do have to get all pants tailored… short girl problems!)
- Versatile tank tops (C&M park tank - comes in multiple colours)
- Mules (these Baz mules from Alias Mae are super comfy, so handy for events!)
- Sneakers (I love my New Balance 574s for a more casual look and Vejas for when I want to feel more chic)
