Satin slip skirts and dresses have been a staple in our wardrobes for a while but now we’re adding simple spaghetti strap camisoles into the mix and it’s bringing back memories of layering multiple camis in one outfit, often matched with a wide lace trim (IYKYK). Thankfully we haven’t gone that deep into the 00s (yet) but the rest of the outfit, including the side part but sans the discman, we can get behind.

Midriff-baring crop tops and corsets are another style we’ve become familiar with but the return of stretchy tube tops, baggy cargo pants and swooshy parachute pants took us by surprise. If you’re going to lean hard into the Y2K revival you may as well add Supre back to your list of favourite brands to visit, where you’ll also find handkerchief hem tops and cowl-neck halters aplenty.

To complete the Y2K pop star wardrobe, don’t forget to add beaded jewellery, butterfly clips and glossy lips to your look, and for summer, skip the chunky sneakers for a pair of flatform slides or flip flops.
