Pump The 80s Playlist Because These Heels Were Made For Dancing

Nadia Fairfax sheds a light on what inspired her latest shoe collaboration with LMS.

She’s a pro at stopping us in our scrolling tracks on Instagram so it’s no surprise that It-Girl Nadia Fairfax has released a collection of heels that have the power to stop traffic on the streets. Designed in collaboration with Australian footwear label LMS, her bright and playful creations are named after popular cocktail mixes and ready for the dancefloor (much like all of us). Excited to finally be able to get dressed up and go out again, we chatted to Nadia about the best ways to style her colourful designs and what was running through her mind during the design process.

What was the inspiration behind the collection?
“We took inspiration from unconventional sources. I'm renovating my house so a lot of inspo actually came from interior accounts. The leopard print was inspired by a leopard couch I was obsessing over and the idea for the scallop-shaped heel came from an interior wall structure I had seen. The idea was to transform an everyday heel by contrasting fabrics and colours to create something fun and different to what we had seen in the market.”

Who did you have in mind when you were coming up with the concepts?
“Lisa (LMS Founder) and I wanted to create something fun that would knock people's socks off (literally!!). After being in lockdown for so long we wanted to produce something that brightened people's day. So we reflected on both of our personal styles and fused these together to create something magical! They are all statement heels that are made to grab everyone's attention when you walk into the room.”

What did you enjoy most about the collaboration with LMS?
“Absolutely everything. I love how hands on I was able to be.  It really was a collaborative process from the beginning to end. Lisa let me take the creative lead which was really fun! Not only were we creating an epic collection but we have also become good friends. Never a dull moment!”

What’s your favourite design from the range and how would you style it?
“All of them! If I had to pick... I am currently loving the Classic Margarita. I wore these to the launch party and they are going to be my statement heel this summer! You can pair them with a dress or they also look super cool with jeans.”

And finally, if the shoes came with their own party anthem, what would the playlist sound like?
“It would be a combo of Donna Summer and Diana Ross – 80s Divas!”
