Converse Hit New Heights with the Run Star Hike

There’s not much the Converse All Star hasn’t seen in the 103 years since its debut, having gone from an on-court workhorse in the early 20th century to an everyday staple – nay, necessity – in the 21st. The All Star has experienced seemingly endless combinations and permutations in its lifetime, but the latest Run Star Hike sees it reach even loftier heights.

Unveiled first as a JW Anderson colab in early 2019, the stacked silhouette is now joining Converse’s regular rotation.

Up top, it’s business as usual, with the high-top canvas upper providing classic Cons styling in dependable black, white or red variations. Meanwhile, down below, things get interesting. Contrast foxing and vulcanised elements nod to the OG Chuck Taylor, while the added platform elevates the silhouette to stand out from the crowd (pun intended). An exaggerated lugged tread adds the final touch – and extra grip, for that matter – to these unapologetic creps, while contrasting gum at the forefoot brings a hit of colour.
