So, The Pink Suit Is A Thing

And we say, embrace.

When talking about style basics, normally the conversation goes in the direction of the one shirt you can wear with absolutely everything, the sandals you’ll wear every day this season, or the slip dress you will live in. This season, though, there’s a new kind of basic on the block: the pink suit.

They’ve been doing the rounds for the last few months, first spied walking the runways for Spring 2018, and it's now time for you to liberate this what-little-girls-are-made-of shade for a new brand of CEO chic. Case in point: in February last year, Blue Ivy owned the Grammys in a pink suit, in support of Mum – Beyoncé – and Pop – Jay Z.  Mum, even, later followed suit, in her APES**T video to launch The Carters’ Everything Is Love album.

Forget power dressing, this is empower dressing. Pink, in the world of colour therapy, is the colour of unconditional love, of soothing, of nurturing. It’s yin, to the max, and femme on all fronts. And, it’s been embraced. Manning Cartell, C/MEO Collective, Véstire and Topshop are among those at the party, and man oh man is it a good time. Like Emma ‘Baby Spice’ Bunton once said, “I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of wearing pink.”
