It’s the dream, isn’t? Carry-on only. Here’s three places to add to your honeymoon itinerary if you’re planning on packing boardshorts … And not much more.

Amalfi, dar-ling
“You MUST go to Da Adolfo,” is the phrase anyone will tell you if you’re Amalfi-bound. For those venturing near the bays by Positano, keep your eyes peeled for the small boat with the red sign bearing the name you’ve no doubt by now heard so often. This restaurant has called this stretch of cliffs home for what feels like forever: and, nestled in a private beach, it’s a by-water kind of affair. Pull into a dock on pebbled beach to walk your way to a lunch you’ll wish was longer for fish, fish and more fish. Also not to be missed, we’re told, is the Pasta Vongole. Deliziosa.

L.A., baby
Take your love to Malibu. Or, more specifically, to Malibu Farm. A short(ish) drive from Santa Monica, breathe in the sea air with a freshly-made Bloody Mary in hand. With farm-to-table day-fresh ingredients, you’ll want seconds (of everything). Surf’s up.

There’s no dress code at Supernatural Cellars, that’s for sure. Here, at the urging of all behind the bar and some in front, anything goes. Eat with your hands! Drink from ceramic bowls! Throw your serviettes on the floor! (no, really, it’s a sign of appreciation of a good time – a tradition borrowed from the seaside town of San Sebastian.) A short block from the beach, you’ll find your fill of natch wines and want-more dishes. To try? The oysters with finger lime for the win.
