The series follows the daughter of a wealthy industrialist, Bella Ainsworth played by Natascha McElhone (Californication), who moved to Italy with her charming but dangerous husband, played by Mark Umbers (Home Fires), to set up a quintessentially British hotel in the breathtaking coastal town of Portofino. 

Guests of the hotel range from high society, aristocrats, gentry and the upper middle class, including Australia’s own rising star Claude Scott-Mitchell (The Dry) as Rose Drummond-Ward, and Anna Chancellor (Four Weddings and a Funeral) who plays the hotel’s most influential but hard-to-please guest, Lady Latchmere.
