The classic suit has more star power than Hollywood Boulevard. Think James Bond, Elvis (when he was in his prime), Frank Blue Eyes Sinatra. Suiting is suave, it’s the go-to for fixing up and looking forever sharp.
With summer inching ever closer and temperatures climbing, wearing the suit you rocked all winter isn’t always that appealing.
Enter: the summer suit.
It’s time to lighten up: think runway-ready tailoring that you can move in in sand hue, light greys and, if you’re feeling it, the pastels.
We checked in with our Head Of Style Menswear, Danielle Soglimbene, for the low-down on finding the perfect suit.

Summer tailoring must-haves
On Soglimbene’s wishlist is a double-breasted number.
“You can wear it super simply, done up, with a singlet underneath. Or, for more a more relaxed vibe, leave it open.”
A pinstripe also ranks on her list.
“This is a classic staple,” she says. “Sure, you can wear it formally, but pair it with a simple white tee and sneakers can bring in that effortlessly cool look into your suiting.”
And her hot-weather styling go to? Linen, of course.
“This is a summer essential. Try a shirt version or even a pant style either or it is a must have for the warmer afternoon drinks.”

Get the right fit
Make yours a suit to live in – for this season and the ones to come. The key to this, says Soglimbene, is all about getting it tailored to a tee.
“Don't be afraid to go to an alterations and get your pants hemmed to fit perfectly to you.”

How to make it your own
To switch it up this summer and keep feeling fresh, Soglimbene says the key is personalisation.
“Add your own touches to your suit that work for you,” she says. “Think: a cool chain, heaps of rings or, you wanted to keep it more classic, you can always add in a pocket square with a hint of colour or pattern.”
Now, all you have to do is score yourself and invite to a summer wedding.
