Sydney, Here's Where to Get Your Tequila (& Tacos)

Cinco de Mayo plans sorted.

Cinco de Mayo is almost upon us – party shirts at the ready. Celebrate Mexico’s most famous liquid export this Cinco de Mayo at one of these Sydney bars, with a side of tacos, of course. Olé!

SoCal
Where: Neutral Bay
Officially a Southern Californian restaurant, SoCal has a tasty list of tequila cocktails all year round. Plus, they celebrate Cinco de Mayo hard with an all-out Taco & Tequila Fiesta kicking off this weekend!

Mejico
Where: CBD and Sutherland
With over 250 varieties of tequila, Mejico is a true contender. Don’t know which one to try? Opt for the ‘tequila wheel’ to help you choose.

Tequila Mockingbird
Where: Paddington
Despite the witty name, this South American-inspired is serious about its tequila and its latin-flavoured food. Spend a night here; don’t just come for one drink.

Flying Fajita Sistas
Where: Glebe
Sure, this Inner West institution has tacos, fajitas and nachos, but we come here for the Tequila Flights – try three different ages of tequila, or hold out for the dessert tequilas!

Tio’s Cerveceria
Where: Surry Hills
Don’t be put off by the unassuming entrance to this bar, inside you’ll find walls covered in Mexican and religious art, melted candles and fairy lights, strung up around the room. There are over 100 different tequilas on offer and no official cocktail list.

Bar Patrón by Rockpool
Where: CBD
Add a little sophistication to your tequila night out at Bar Patrón. Sure, you could order the famous Patron Serie 2 tequila at $990 a shot, but then again the rest of the impressive drinks menu is much more affordable.
