While social media may have us believe that people live their best night every night of the week, the truth is that some of us are perfectly happy on the couch finishing up emails / binging on Netflix for nights at a stretch. December, though, looms on the calendar, and party season is bearing down with diary invites that threaten to clash on the daily. So, it’s time to trade in those trackies … but for what?

We went in search of what to wear for those very special occasions in our calendar. The milestone birthdays. The anniversaries. The end-of-year hooray-we-made-it parties. And, turns out, as much as we love our home time, it’s nice to have something to look forward to. So, let’s celebrate – in style.

Shop the look

Just wanna have fun?
Go for something shiny, something sparkly, something in a silhouette you don’t normally wear. Play with fabrics and shapes. Wear fishnets under a slip for a retro feel. Mix dresses with pants and shirts with slips.

The bold and the beautiful
Go for exaggerated accessories. The bolder, the better.

Let your light shine
Wear shine on shine. Too much sparkle and sheen is never enough.

Layer up
Wear a sheer shirt under a slip dress. This also gives a fresh feel to something you’d wear on the regular.

Buy well
They might not be on high rotation, but that doesn’t mean you can’t rock them more regularly. Just tease them out and team them with your basics. Your white shirts and your white sneakers.
