Why A Co-Ordinating Linen Shirt & Short Combo Is The Best Investment

Adding AERE’s affordable sets to our wishlists.

Conscious shopping is at the tip of everyone’s tongues at the moment. Yet, how can we contribute?

Apart from being aware of what we are buying, and from where, I believe it starts with quality purchases; finding items of clothing that are versatile. It is one of the keys to an entirely flexible (and small) wardrobe.

For spring and summer, it all starts with linen. A matching linen shirt and short just may be the best investment you make this season.

If you’re looking for something new for the season, or ideas to take on your Euro trip next year, or staples that will be constant in your wardrobe, AERE’s linen pieces have you covered.

Styling linen is easy. Even if fashion isn’t your forte, little can go wrong. Linen’s texture is unique and partners with other fabrics as perfect as LeBron and basketball. The styling combinations are endless.

A linen shirt can be worn with almost any pant and short. You can also wear linen shorts with almost any tee or other shirts. And they look clean and crisp when worn together too. Matchy-matchy is not just for prints at festivals!

You could even wear an oversized linen shirt with shell running shorts and sneakers and it would be a vibe. Can confirm from personal experience

When heading to meet a friend for coffee, a clean white tee with black linen shorts, paired with your favourite sneaker is a simple, casual look. A movie date? No issue. Your black linen shirt with neutral colour pants will be effortless and cool. As for the linen-on-linen co-ordinating set? It was made for arvo drinks at your local beach bar.

As I get older – and hopefully wiser – I get closer to the belief that less is more. That sometimes everything isn’t really everything. It’s not necessarily minimalism, but it’s just an appreciation of the power of quality over quantity.
