1. Make DIY Play-Doh
Keep them busy by making play-doh from scratch! It's easier than it sounds, just with a mix of salt, flour, cream of tartar, oil, and some food colouring. Full recipes are a Google away. Plus, it’s great for their fine motor skills. While you’re DIY-ing, they can play with their own set of baby-proof wooden spoons and utensils.

2. Artists In Residence
The fuss-free painting idea that the mess-makers will love, sans paint shirts. How? Squeeze their favourite colours into a large zip-lock bag and let them create their own masterpieces. Mix, swirl, repeat! Try getting them familiar with primary colours so that they create complementary colours and even sneak a piece of paper inside the ziplock bag for a keepsake at the end.

3. Build A Fort
Keep cosy while having fun with some fort-building. While there’s no wrong way to go about it, we’ll share our two all-time ways. The first is piling blankets over sets of parallel chairs, mounted with cushions for stability. Alternatively, gather a sheet, pegs, and some sturdy string to build a tee-pee style fort. You’ll want to affix the string to a bookshelf or door hinge and safety pin the edge closest to the ground down. There’ll be room for nap time or afternoon stories inside – you’ll see!
4. Solve This Puzzle
Create an at-home puzzle by tracing familiar objects on some paper. From there, let them match the stencil to the correct object. With toys and knick-knacks from around the home, your options are endless.
