Don't Think You're An Athlete? Think Again

Four of the best sports for people who hate sports.

Not really into sports? Don’t worry, when it comes to staying fit and healthy, any movement counts. And luckily, the same goes for THE ICONIC SPORT Challenge – so check out the list below and try one of these on for size!

Breakdancing
No, we’re not talking about a ‘throwback to the 90s’ night. The sport of breakdancing has grown into a global movement and with big sponsors on board – the most prestigious breakdancing comp is the Red Bull BC One. Oh and keep an eye out at the Paris 2024 Olympics as you might see breakdancing on the bill! The best thing about getting involved is that all you need is some music and you’re all set.

Trampolining
Bring out your inner child and bounce yourself to fitness! Trampolining has taken Australia by storm – there are trampolining fitness classes, trampoline parks and you can also join trampolining gymnastics. It’s fun, it’s fast and it’ll get you super fit. We love that beginners don’t need any skills at all – just the ability to jump. Tick!

Skateboarding
Originally called ‘sidewalk surfing’, which we love, skateboarding is now so popular you’ll see it debut at next year’s Olympics. It’s a great full-body workout, especially for your core, plus studies show it can also help fight stress and anxiety. To give this sport a go, don’t worry about buying an expensive board, start by renting one and hit the streets in style.

Ping Pong
This one can actually be done solo (see Forrest Gump above) for now. Even though it only involves a table, a bat and a ball, you’ll find yourself sweating it up big time as you stretch to return a serve.  There’s a reason that table tennis has been at the Olympics since 1988; it’s fun but it’s also a full-on exercise in hand-eye coordination as well.

Bring on the sweatbands!
