“I think my blood is actually khaki,” Bindi Irwin once joked.
Long the colour of the Irwin family and park rangers alike, this shade has found itself centre stage of late (and, in our wardrobes).
“Khaki is my go to alternative to black,” our Head of Style Nicole Adolphe tells us. “It has that cool, kind of tough edge that I like.”
“It can be teamed back with black and, as a base, works with a whole lot of colourways, from pastels to neon brights to neutrals like cream, tan and mustard.”
So, how to style your new favourite shade?
ACCESSORISE
ACCESSORISE
Style it back with your everyday accessories. “Team it with black or tan,” Adolphe tells us. “Try black for a tougher edge and tan or cream for a more utility vibe.”

“There’s so many colour combinations to test drive with khaki. You can try head-to-toe khaki or play with shades of green. For example, teal works well with khaki. Or, have a go at colour blocking and run your khaki with a strong shade, like cobalt blue, mustard or orange.”
TRY A PRINT
TRY A PRINT
There’s no need to stick with flat shades - pair a print with your khaki. “For more street-style look try a camo print,” says says Adolphe. “Or, to add a more feminine feel to your khaki skirt, reach for a floral.”
Among her must-have pieces?
“The boiler suit or a cargo pant of course.”
Here’s a few more of our picks. After all if it’s not in blood, it can be as close to it as possible.
