THE MET GALA 2022
Between Blake Lively’s shape-shifting Versace gown to Kim Kardashian wearing a literal piece of history, this year’s Met Gala brought decadence back to the red carpet. And while we didn’t cop an invite, it didn’t stop us from mining the Met for a year’s worth of style inspo. Gloves? Corset dressing? Platforms? Pete Davidson arm candy? They’re all here.

DON’T WORRY, DARLING PRESS TOUR
There was so much drama surrounding Don’t Worry, Darling that we almost forgot to see the actual movie. Amid the viral salad dressing accusations and wondering whether Harry Styles did/did not spit on Chris Pine, the cast still managed to serve serious red carpet looks. Our faves? Olivia Wilde glowing in canary yellow Gucci; Gemma Chan in head-to-toe gold sequins; and a toss-up between Florence Pugh’s sparkling black gown and her purple Valentino three-piece set.

THINK PINK
Call it Barbiecore. Call it the Valentino Effect. Whatever you called in, in 2022 there was no escaping hot pink. We donned the shade top to toe, taking style cues from some of this year’s most unforgettable pink moments: Anne Hathaway, Zendaya and Florence Pugh to name a few. And with the world still feverishly waiting for the release of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie in 2023, we don’t see pink going anywhere just yet.

COPERNI’S SPRAY-ON DRESS
To say that this particular moment at Paris Fashion Week SS23 sent the internet into a tailspin would be an understatement. Our eyes were glued as Bella Hadid graced the Coperni runway in nothing but briefs, before being sprayed – silly string-style – with a liquid fibre called Fabrican. Before too long, a white off-the-shoulder midi quite literally appeared out of thin air – the future of body-con dresses is here, people.

JULIA FOX
We’re calling it – 2022 was the year of Julia Fox, and we couldn’t help but fall in love with the sartorial chaos. From bleached brows and bold liner to dangerously low-rise denim, underwear to go grocery shopping and a serious penchant for patent leather, Fox served some of this year’s most talked-about fashion moments – and dared the rest of us to ditch the rulebook too.
