Why Our Morning Walks Are Everything To Us RN

On our to-do list: (Statistically) lower stress. 

All last week, we dressed from the desk up. Blazers on top, bike pants underneath. But, as the call comes through for all gyms to close their doors, our daily walk is now one of the only ways we’re saying hello to that outside world. 

Walking – while keeping a safe distance from others – is our go-to to clear our head, up our heart rate and stretch our legs. Plus, it’s the perfect time to vibe on podcasts and Feel Good Playlists, as well as using the time to put in calls to those we can’t see on the reg for the meantime. 

But it’s more than the distraction we all need RN. According to a study by the National Institute of Health, a quick 20-minute stroll each day will statistically lower stress (much needed at the moment) and up our chances of a better nights’ sleep.  And, given our current WFH-diet, the further and faster you walk, the more calories you burn. A small, much-needed win.
