If you have found it hard to think about dressing for your day over the last 18 months, we hear you and you’re not alone. With constant COVID restrictions and lockdowns in place, it has not only been seemingly pointless to dress with any sense of purpose, but it’s little wonder many are opting for tracksuits (or pyjamas) as they navigate the #WFHLyfe.
But it doesn’t have to be like that. Are you tired of the mundanity of it all and want to find your steeze again? Well, we’ve found four simple ways to reclaim your style and it’s as simple as dressing for your day (and there’s not a pair of tracksuits in sight!).
Dress for your work meetings
One of the easiest ways to dress for some ounce of purpose during these lockdown periods is to consider jazzing up your look for those camera-on meetings. Your colleagues might not fully appreciate your look but you sure will, and it will certainly break up the hybrid tracksuit pants and t-shirt combo you’ve begrudgingly adopted over the last year.
Complete your look with a casual shirt, a pair of relaxed chinos in a neutral tone and perhaps a lightweight sweater to finish for those cooler mornings. Shoes? Slippers are still appropriate here (you are working from home, after all).
Dress for your walk
Walking, running, cycling; it’s become one of the very few outlets we can actually look forward to on any given day whilst working from home. Not only a reason to leave the house but a chance to get some fresh air and pop on your best activewear.
So, this season, throw away those crummy sneakers and that fitness top you’ve held onto for far too long and update your wardrobe with some practical numbers.
Dress for the supermarket run
Sure, a trip to the supermarket these days might be a quick stopover for a bag of Smiths chips or your favourite block of chocolate. But dressing up for a quick pop over to the supermarket will never be frowned upon – and it might just make you feel good, too.
Dress for your favourite TV show
Lockdowns mean excess TV watching; everybody knows that. And that’s fine, as long as comfort is key (who wants to be sitting in agony through an episode of The Bachelor?). So, why not invest in the latest sleepwear, like a comfortable t-shirt, easy-stretch pyjama pants and maybe even a robe for those chilly nights.
