Short answer is yes, they always have been, however not too long ago the leggings-as-pants debate was a topic that polarised the fashion community for quite some time. Some were concerned about how the stretchy (and sometimes sheer) tights failed to provide sufficient coverage, particularly when worn in public, while others thrived in their second-skin outfits, wearing them with everything from athleisure gear to business shirts. We’ll admit, for a very long time we were a member of the former – preferring to save the figure-hugging fabric for workouts only – but now, in this current COVID-19 climate, yoga pants are all we live in, and we have no regrets.
A comfortable choice, especially for days spent sitting on the couch, on a budget home-office chair, in bed or sprawled on the floor, leggings are quickly becoming our iso’ style staple. Pop them on in the mornings for a quick at-home workout, then pair with a nice top to keep you looking fresh for all your face-to-face phone calls, and finish the day by layering with your favourite knits and jumpers for supreme comfort while you take the time to self-care.
