Yes, Y2K beauty trends are here to stay. And surprisingly, there are still trends from the ‘00s that are yet to be rediscovered. The most recent one to resurface is a personal favourite of mine: the stretchy headband.

Credit to Bella Hadid for bringing this trend back to the mainstream, as the model has been spotted sporting a stretchy headband on numerous occasions now. We also saw wide headbands make their mark on the runway in the Schiaparelli F/W 23 ready-to-wear collection earlier this year. Whether you’re wearing it for a pilates class or on a night out, there’s no arguing that this Y2K hair accessory is both on trend and extremely wearable. 

But the biggest drawcard for this trend is its ability to hide greasy strands in seconds. As a beauty editor who hates washing her hair, a wide headband has become a weekly staple for stretching out wash days. Think of it as the new Hailey Bieber-inspired slicked-back bun. Plus, it looks like you’ve put way more effort in than you actually have.
