What I Wear To Work As An Influencer Coordinator

When colour, coordination and comfort are key priorities.
Curvy WorkwearCurvy Workwear

When your workday varies from answering emails at your desk to meetings with clients and running errands, finding workwear that’s both inspiring and practical can be tricky. Add size inclusivity on top of that and your options are even more limited. We asked THE ICONIC’s influencer coordinator Kristen Sawdon to share her curvy workwear recommendations, where she sources style inspiration and what she’s wishlisting right now.

Name: Kristen Sawdon
Instagram: @kristencarly
TikTok: @kristencarlyxx
Occupation: Production Influencer Coordinator

Job description in a nutshell:
I play a pivotal part in supporting the development and execution of all influencer eCommerce activities – from initial scouting and outreach, to contract negotiation and onboarding and creating briefs.

What does a typical work day look like?
My day typically starts with a morning swim in my rooftop pool, it really wakes me up to start the day. When I get into work, I’m usually responding to any important emails and scrolling Instagram to find fresh faces. I have been recently reaching out to different agencies to build relationships and onboard new talent. I liaise with influencers on upcoming ecomm shoots and regularly meet with our buying teams to pitch new talent to shoot different brands.

Three words that define your general style:
Colourful. Coordinated. Comfortable.

How does it compare to what you wear to work?
I love to have a lot of colour in my wardrobe and, when putting together a look, I love to ensure everything coordinates together from my outfit down to my socks and shoes. I also love to be comfortable in the outfit I am wearing to work as my schedule always varies – I could be at my desk or I could be running around pulling looks together or meeting with agencies and influencers.

I love the Atmos&Here Calla Jacket and Pants coordinating set paired with a plain white tee because I can be dressed up for a meeting but then take off the blazer for a more casual look.

Where do you look for workwear outfit inspiration?
Being a curvier girl it has taken me a while to feel comfortable in what I wear. I’ve learnt to wear what I feel is best for my body type and not what others may think a curvier girl should be wearing, therefore I pull a lot of style inspiration from all different people on Instagram and other social media platforms and try to recreate looks in curvier sized clothes.

Some of my favourite outfit inspo comes from:

  • Paige Desorbo: @paige_desorbo
  • Matilda Murray: @matilda_murray_
  • Catherine Li: @catieli
  • Rocky Barnes: @rocky_barnes
  • Chloe Farrell: @chlloemariie

What’s one thing that makes you feel ready for a Zoom call?
A good pair of simple hoops or a pair of blue light glasses. At home I am always make-up free so a few key accessories, like jewellery and glasses, really just elevates a make-up free look.

What’s your criteria for a good work bag?
Must fit my laptop and some good snacks. My current fave is the Camilla and Marc Denver Tote.

Describe your ideal desk-to-drinks outfit:
An all in one jumpsuit/bodysuit teamed with an oversized blazer and a pair of fresh white Nike Air Force 1s is one of those all-rounder outfits you can wear anywhere.
