Founded by Californian climber and surfer, Yvon Chouinard, Patagonia was born as a spin-off of Chouinard Equipment, a small shop near the Rincon surf breaks in California, who were known for making some of the world’s best climbing gear. The Patagonia Brimmer provides 40+ UPF sun protection and instant shade for full days outside. It works just as well for a hike as it does on the river—and it floats if you take an accidental swim.

- Treated with a durable water repellent (DWR) finish made without intentionally added PFAS, and 40+ UPF sun protection and a wide brim help keep the sun off you
- Mid-crown fit with a 7cm brim; available in two sizes
- Foam brim and lightweight construction keep this hat afloat if it ends up in the river
- Adjustable drawcord chin strap keeps the hat in place, even in windy conditions
- Lightweight, low-profile sweatband offers moisture and temperature management
