The GEL-KAYANO 12.1 sneaker combines iconic design details from the version that launched in 2006 and harmonizes them with a modern tooling system.This design's upper was inspired by European gothic armor and its structural, metallic properties. The upper also features a combination of sporty emboss synthetic leather overlays sporty open mesh underlays that help keep feet cool and comfortable.The midsole features the same tooling system as the GEL-NIMBUS 17 shoe. It was originally engineered for comfort during the marathons, featuring dual GEL™ technology inserts and a FLUIDRIDE cushioning structure.

- Breathable mesh underlays
- GEL-NIMBUS™17 tooling system
- FLUIDRIDE™ outsole
- Rearfoot and forefoot GEL™ technology
