Timberland

It started over 40 years ago with boots called Timberland. Inspired by form and function, the yellow boot was made from full-grain nubuck leather with thick rubber lug soles.

Throughout the early 1980s, the Timberland brand was known for its quality hand sewn boat shoes, until the yellow boot took off. Soon, you could buy it everywhere – from high-end sporting goods stores to department stores and men’s fashion stores throughout Italy, the United Kingdom and Germany. By the mid 1980s, the boot was adopted into popular culture in Italy, appealing to a consumer-driven middle class searching for a “Made in the USA” look. With Urban hip-hop culture sweeping through Hong Kong and Japan in the late 1980s, it brought along demand for the yellow boot, growing into a symbol of individuality and independence for many young adults.

Over the years the boot has gained a cult following with trendsetters, celebrities and musicians alike. Rihanna and Cara Delevingne style theirs with distressed denim and flannelette shirts, while Pharrell Williams wears his with denim shorts and oversized tees.

Now available in a stylish range of colours – from the classic yellow to pale pink and navy blue designs – Timberland is a badge of independence, reliability and classic style. With fashion changing constantly and new shoe designs emerging every day, Timberland has stood the test of time.
