The ULTIMATE 81 EX was made in 1981 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the high-spec model "ULTIMATE", which was made by bringing together the technology of the time. While inheriting the characteristic design of the time, such as the roll-up of the outer sole toe, a hole called a kush hole in the heel of the midsole to increase cushioning, and a TPU heel protector, Onitsuka Tiger has been updated it a modern style.
